On the dissolution of West Pakistan Small Industries Corporation in June, 1972, the affairs of the sub sector Small Industries in Balochistan were assigned to the Directorate of Industries while in other Provinces separate small Industries Corporation (Punjab & Sindh) or a Board in KPK were created.

• Extension improvement of skills of the labour force concerning traditional handicrafts.
• Improvement of craftsman prices for handicrafts products.
• Creation of employment opportunities within the public sector.

• Conduct surveys to assess the potential for establishing training centers.  
  Establish and operate traditional craft training centers for both men and women.
  Develop and manage Small Industrial Estates.
